David Castagna is a managing director and global co-head of the technology, media & telecommunications investment banking team at Piper Jaffray. During his career, Castagna has worked on a wide variety of capital raising and strategic advisory assignments across several key sectors of the technology industry, including communications equipment, semiconductors, alternative energy, enterprise software, IT services and Internet.
Prior to joining Piper Jaffray, he was the head of Cowen and Company’s Technology, Media and Telecom Group. Prior to that, he was the head of Technology Investment Banking at Thomas Weisel Partners.
Castagna graduated summa cum laude from Brigham Young University and received a Master of Business Administration degree from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Mark Leavitt is a managing director and global co-head of the technology, media & telecommunications team at Piper Jaffray. Leavitt is responsible for managing the firm’s overall investment banking relationships with media, entertainment and communications clients.
Prior to joining Piper Jaffray in 2008, Leavitt ran the media and communications teams at Jefferies, SG Cowen and Robertson Stephens. He also ran the Prudential Volpe Technology Group and was a partner at Oppenheimer & Co. Leavitt has more than 25 years of investment banking experience with a primary focus on middle market and emerging growth companies.
Leavitt received his master of business administration degree from the University of Chicago School of Business and his bachelor’s degree in economics from Trinity College. He currently serves on the boards of the Harlem Globetrotters and Trinity College and is president of the board of directors of Jacob’s Pillow Dance. Leavitt previously served on the boards of Centennial Communications, Citadel Communications, T/SF Communications and US Radio.
