Peyton Green

Peyton Green is an investment banker assisting financial services clients with M&A advisory and capital markets activity. As an equity analyst, Green covered depository institutions in the Southeast and Midwest for nearly two decades. Prior to joining Piper Jaffray & Co. in May of 2015, his 22-year career included long stints at Sterne Agee and FTN Midwest Securities. Professional honors have included being named Best on the Street by The Wall Street Journal and recognition by Starmine as both a top 10 stock picker in the U.S. and a top 5 stock picker among under covered companies. As a long-tenured analyst, he has a strong appreciation for interest rate and economic cycles and their effect on a wide variety of business models. Additionally, he has a strong understanding of institutional investor sentiment and interest regarding financial institutions and their business models, strategic opportunities and M&A transactions.

Throughout his career, Green has been involved in strategic advisory and capital markets activity for financial institutions, including initial public and follow-on equity offerings and subordinated debt. Green was involved in the underwriting of the first pooled trust preferred fund.

Green has been a lifelong resident of the south. Although he has lived in Nashville, Tennessee since 2001, he resided in Birmingham and Atlanta previously, grew up in New Orleans, Louisiana, and is a native of Mississippi. In 1993, Green received his bachelor's degree from The University of the South. Green serves on the board of directors of the Lauren Rogers Museum of Art in Laurel, Mississippi.
