Shannon Thompson is a vice president in the Piper Jaffray public finance group, and provides banking and senior analytical support for several large and sophisticated financial advisory clients in the Northwest, including the State of Washington, University of Washington, Port of Seattle, the City of Seattle, Sound Transit and King County. She is involved in nearly all steps related to bond sales, both competitive and negotiated and works with bankers and clients to evaluate bond structuring options, identify and evaluate refunding opportunities, review disclosure and legal documents and develop rating presentation strategies. Thompson also provides analytics for a variety of non-transaction-related projects including toll revenue modeling for the State of Washington's Department of Transportation and ongoing financial modeling for Sound Transit.

Prior to joining Piper Jaffray, Thompson was a senior associate for Grant Thornton LLP's economic advisory services group in Seattle, where she specialized in financial modeling and analysis in connection with the valuation of closely-held businesses for purposes of litigation support, mergers and acquisitions, ESOPs, estate planning, and taxation.

Thompson graduated from Claremont McKenna College with a bachelor's degree in economics.
