Bruce Sorensen

Bruce Sorensen joined Piper Jaffray in 2002 and has been in the fixed income investment banking business since 1989. Over the course of his career, Sorensen has developed expertise in many areas of public finance, including local government, economic development, sales tax, tax increment, project revenue and charter school finance.

Sorensen established Piper Jaffray’s charter school finance business in 2007. Since then, he has served as the senior banker on construction loan placements and long-term charter school bond financings totaling in excess of $400 million.

Bill Wildman

Bill Wildman came to Piper Jaffray in 2014. He serves as a managing director in the public finance group. An investment banker since 1981, his clients have included governments, developers and not-for-profit corporations throughout the country. Areas of expertise include charter school, housing and infrastructure finance.

Beginning in 2000, Wildman began working with charter schools, developing bond structures that made it possible for charter schools to access the public securities markets. In 2010, two of his clients received recognition as “Bond Buyer Deal of the Year” recipients, the only charter schools to receive this recognition.

Prior to joining Piper Jaffray, Wildman was with RBC Capital Markets for 17 years; he’s also worked with A.G. Edwards and Boettcher & Company.

Wildman holds degrees from the University of Colorado and Colorado State University.

Nick Hagen

Nick Hagen

Nick Hagen is a senior vice president in the public finance group at Piper Jaffray. Hagen joined Piper Jaffray in 2004. He has provided investment banking services to a number of governmental, nonprofit and private borrowers. He specializes in structuring and executing tax-exempt and taxable financings for charter schools, tax increment districts, other project finance borrowers, new market tax credit structures, and state and local government issuers.

Hagen has focused primarily on charter school financing since 2008.

Hagen holds a bachelor's degree in finance and economics from the University of Minnesota.
