BOSTON —April 10, 2006—Piper Jaffray & Co. is pleased to announce that Kurt Franke has joined Piper Jaffray as a managing director in public finance municipal sales. Franke will join the firm's sales team in the Boston office.

We continue to identify growth opportunities in the Boston area and are looking forward to Kurt's contributions in this effort.”

Franke has more than 25 years of municipal sales experience. Most recently, he worked in municipal sales at SAMCO in Boston. He has also held municipal sales positions at Banc of America and Goldman Sachs. Franke has a bachelor's degree in economics from Brown University in Providence, R.I.
