Hongbo Lu is a principal and senior research analyst focusing on China life sciences and healthcare companies. Prior to assuming the China healthcare coverage, Lu was a research analyst at Piper Jaffray covering the U.S. biotechnology universe. Prior to joining Piper Jaffray, Lu spent five years in healthcare industry in the U.S. as a strategic planning manager, consultant, and scientist for a number of start-up, biotech, and medical devices companies. Lu has an MBA from UC Berkeley and a Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from University of Washington. She is also an honored graduate from Tsinghua University in China.
